In a tragic development, one of the individuals killed at the Manchester synagogue attack is believed to have been shot dead by law enforcement personnel.

Police Announcement Reveals Firearm Injury

The senior officer from the local force announced that a forensic expert has provisionally determined the victim succumbed to a gunshot wound.

“We sought guidance overnight from forensic specialists before full postmortem examinations scheduled for this afternoon. The Home Office pathologist indicated that preliminary findings show a victim likely sustained a injury matching a gunshot injury.”

Attacker Information

The assailant, Jihad al-Shamie, did not have a gun, and all discharged rounds came from authorized firearms personnel on site.

It is believed the victim was among those behind the synagogue door trying to stop the attacker from entering the building.

Consequences of Police Action

“It follows therefore pending additional analysis, this injury may sadly have been sustained as a unintended and heartbreaking result of the necessary rapid response employed by my officers to halt this brutal assault.”

Names Released

The two victims killed in the attack during the synagogue incident in north Manchester earlier this week were identified as 53-year-old Adrian Daulby and Melvin Cravitz, 66 years old.

These individuals lost their lives when a vehicle was employed to crash through the grounds of the local Jewish place of worship, then stabbed worshippers in a six-minute rampage that concluded after armed officers shot at him twice, ending his life at the door of the temple.

Additional Injuries

Three others sustained major injuries in the violent act on Yom Kippur, the most sacred occasion in the Jewish calendar.

The chief constable added, “Medical professionals have informed us that one of the three victims currently receiving treatment sustained a gunshot wound, which is fortunately non-fatal. It is believed both victims were close together behind the synagogue door, as attendees showed courage to stop the assailant from gaining entry.”

“We extend our condolences are directed toward the affected relatives, and broader public, impacted by these events across Greater Manchester and beyond. Trained personnel are offering aid and care for everyone involved, including our brave first responders.”

Attacker Profile

Authorities identified the perpetrator as Shamie, thirty-five, a British citizen of Syrian origin.

Greater Manchester police said that three other people – two male suspects and an older female – had been detained “for alleged involvement in planning of acts of terrorism”.
